  • 2 g matcha
  • 60 ml water at 75 C
  • 180 ml coconut milk
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 0.25 tsp turmeric
  • 0.25 tsp ginger
  • pinch of black pepper
  • pinch of cardamom

Steps

  1. Sift 2g of matcha into a bowl.
  2. Add 60ml of water at 75 degrees Celsius and whisk for 20 seconds.
  3. Warm 180ml of coconut milk with a quarter teaspoon each of turmeric and ginger.
  4. Add a pinch each of black pepper and cardamom and bring to about 60 degrees Celsius.
  5. Stir in 1 teaspoon of honey.
  6. Pour the matcha into a mug and top with the spiced milk.

Whisk about 20 seconds.

Black pepper is traditional with turmeric and adds a gentle warmth to the cup.
